You may have noticed that Ava’s Alphabet has been pretty quiet so far during 2018. Life is full of ups and downs and unexpected challenges. Last year I decided to make a big change in my long term career. I took a deep breath, quit my “day job” and embarked on starting my own private practice psychotherapy business in addition to running Ava’s Alphabet. I have been pouring my time and energy into building my new practice and providing outpatient therapy to women adjusting to pregnancy and motherhood or struggling with a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder. Now that my private practice is growing and thriving, it is time to return to my other love: fostering creativity and blogging.
During my break from actively cultivating this website, I have done some soul searching about the focus and purpose of Ava’s Alphabet. When I first started Ava’s Alphabet in 2016, I knew that I wanted a creative outlet to showcase my broad range of interests. As the concept of Ava’s Alphabet came together, it felt like it made sense to start sharing ideas and inspiration with other mothers and families as a target audience. Throughout my blogging journey, I have met some amazing people and learned an incredible amount about writing, photography, marketing, social media, working with brands, how to run a business and what my readers have liked, loved or not been excited about at all. And I have loved the journey thus far. But it feels like it is time to sharpen my focus and at the same time speak to a broader audience than just mothers and families.
What I have learned through my experience with Ava’s Alphabet and during this time of self reflection is that what I am most energized and passionate about is the idea of celebrating – birthdays, holidays, entertaining, and planning for big events and small moments. My intention for Ava’s Alphabet moving forward is just that – to focus on celebrating all of life’s moments. And not just in an elaborate “Pinterest perfect” kind of way, but in way that anyone can accomplish even if you don’t see yourself as being creative or capable of planning your own big or small celebrations.
So without further ado, I am excited to introduce you to my new logo and tag line –
What can you expect with this change? Much of the same great content from before but with true intention to reach a broader audience, make projects and parties easier to recreate and reminders and inspiration to celebrate the little things in life just as much as the big stuff. I hope that you will choose to continue joining me on this adventure. I would love to have you join my email list and to follow me on the social media platforms of your choice (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Twitter). Also stay tuned over the next few days for an exciting opportunity to win a $250 gift card from Oriental Trading just in time for Halloween!
Thank you for your ongoing encouragement and support. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback on Ava’s Alphabet in the future.
Xoxo’s and ABC’s,
